I adopted my dog from the humane society six months ago. She was well trained, obedient in every way and still is. Only problem I have is when I'm at work. She's gated in the back hall and bedroom. She chews the carpet. Never chews anything but bones when I'm home. I take her out every day for a walk or to let her run after balls etc. She has toys and bones. I'm sure she's lonely and misses me because she's always by my side. She's 2 years old, I think. Is it too late to try crate training, or preferably I'd like to stop her from ruining the carpet using other methods. Spraying the carpet doesn't work, and there's no difference if I come home at lunch and take her out. When she was gated in the kitchen she chewed the flooring. help!
