Puppy Rescue

I think its great that there are so many people out there doing breed rescue and adult rescue, but what about the puppies? Our puppies were found in a box with 6 others just tossed beside the road. They told us when we adopted them that its lucky someone spotted the box so quickly or they might have gotten bored and tried to climb out and explore. They're not pure bred but we call them labs and they are wonderful to us (most of the time). When we got Chaz and Watson there were at least 30 or 40 other puppies in the store looking for homes. Some of those will probably end up euthanized before they ever get the chance to live.

The puppies really break your heart don't they? I know its really hard to try and sort out which dogs are in the most need, but statistically speaking puppies have a better chance of getting adopted. They are still little and cute. But there are still far too many that end up being put to sleep.
I like my dogs better than I do most people!

They do break my heart! I know that all the dogs are in need of help but there is just something totally sad about a puppy that is totally helpless against all things. At least the older dogs can defend themsleves somewhat. I don't know, its all just so wrong and sad no matter which way we look at it.

I wish that there was more that I could do. I say that knowing that their probably is, but I just don't know where to start. It's just one of those problems that seems so large that how could one person make a difference? I have to get out of that mind set. If every one thought that way then nothing would ever get done. And one person here and there starts to add up quickly!
