So this is the topic I've set up for our greyhound chat. I'd love to know a few more details about what you did working at the greyhound rescue centre and how you went about getting the job. I've looked at websites about it but don't know where to start to get involved really. I'm just looking for information about what you did there and how the centre was run.
Hope you see this and respond, and I'd love to hear from you soon! Hi! I\\\'m 24 years old and have a greyhound called Molly. She\\\'s 4 and a terror, but so sweet and loving! I love dogs in general and my parnter has a long list of dogs he wants - including a Great Dane! As I\\\'m 5\\\'2\\\", that may be a mismatch! Look forward to getting to know you all!

Where i worked was all on a volunteer basis. It was very well run. You kept a foster dog as long as they were in the rescue and you wanted to keep them. I dont know what to say how bout you jsut ask questions and ill answer em.

Lol, sounds good to me! Firstly how did you get into it. As you were a volunteer, did you just contact them and ask if they needed help or what? As I've said, I'm thinking of doing something like that because of Molly and the stories of what happens to them if nobody wants them. Hi! I\\\'m 24 years old and have a greyhound called Molly. I got into it by walking into petsmart trying to get my mom to let me get a dog and finding a pit bull book. She said if i took care of the fosters on my own i could get a dog.
I found out they needed help because my mom was petting them and she said she wanted one and im like ok i dont care the breed i just want a dog lol. THe lady heard that i wanted a dog but my mom wasnt sure and said i could volunteer or foster and we took the broshure and app. and emailed it to them had our first foster that weekend.
Here they stay in teh rescue untill they die or get adopted. They almost always get adopted tho if they stay to long one of the volunteers ends up with em lol.

That's brilliant. At least they never get put to sleep because they have outstayed their welcome. What a way tofall into something! But it worked out really well for you! Maybe I should just go round the pet stores and dog shelters here and ask for some information. I'm sure someone is bound to know about places that need help round here.

Try looking on notice boards in pet stores. I know a fewshelters where I live advertise on them because it is the one sure place you will find dog lovers who want to help dogs in need of fostering, good homes and within the shelter environment. There are plenty of ads online too if you want to find somewhere to help out a bit further afield. A dog is for life and we are his servants!!!
