Origin: Germany
Life Expectancy: 10-12 years
Height Range: 21-25 inches
Weight Range: 55-70 Ibs
Colors: Tan, light brown to dark brown with white markings.
Temperament: The Boxer breed is a very high spirited, playful, curious, athletic,  and energetic dog. Highly intelligent, eager and quick to learn ,but can also be stubborn and sneaky. The boxer dog is a great obediance dog. This dog bonds very close with family and is truly a loyal and affectionate dog.

These dogs always need alot of attention. The boxer gets its name from the way it uses its front paws for about anything regarding play, food, or pushing their food bowl around. They are also known to jump up and use their front paws like a boxer as well.

The boxer is very clownish and will get into just about anything. These dogs are always keen to work and play. They are also very athletic and love to jump on people. So training them not to leap on people should be a priority. This breed is also noted for its courage and agility which makes them great guard dogs. They are widely used in military and police work.

Trainability: Very good, but requires a good trainer due to their high energy levels.
Health: From age eight on they are more likely to get tumors than other breeds. Tendency for allergies. Also heart problems. These dogs may drool and snore. May have excessive flatulence. Some white Boxers are prone to deafness.


With Other Animals: The boxer plays with well other animals and makes friends easily with other dogs of its same breed. Females tend to be more aggresive, but generally get along with each other if raised around other dogs.
Children: These breeds are known to get along with children and treat them as their own.
Climate: Tolerates heat well but will chill easily. Will do okay in an apartment, but needs to be let out from time to time.
Indoor/Outdoor: Should be both. Needs alot of interaction on both sides. High exercise is required.
Grooming: Requires brushing very often. Twice a week would be adequate.
